Need Special Wine Recipe

December 16, 2007 · 1 Comment

This traditional Christmas drink will keep you warm on a cold winters night! The best thing about preparing this drink recipe at home is the wonderful aromatic smell that will waft through your house.

Just don’t let your mulled wine boil when you are cooking – or the alcohol will evaporate!

Ingredients

1 bottle Red Wine
1 cup Water
110g Sugar
1 Cinnamon stick
3 Whole Cloves
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
Zest of 1 Lemon

Method

Combine the cup of water, sugar, orange juice, cinnamon, cloves, and lemon zest into one saucepan and stir.

Bring the mixture to the boil then let it simmer for 18-20 minutes.

Strain, then return to the saucepan. Add the red wine and allow to simmer – but not boil!

Serve your delicious mulled wine in your favourite glasses with a traditional sweet christmas recipe -I recommend mince pie or gingerbread!

TIP: Prevent your wine glasses from cracking by heating them first!
